HISTORY / ORIGIN

The journey began in the late 1950s with the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), which used a physical probe to touch an object at various points. The 1960s saw the birth of non-contact 3D scanning using optical triangulation. In 1994, Stanford researchers captured a terracotta figurine, creating the famous "Stanford Bunny" – 69,451 triangles that became the global standard test model for computer graphics. The 2000s brought the SLAM revolution, enabling true handheld mobility.
